KELLEY                                                                             CALEB
We wanted our kids to learn about nature by giving them responsibilities.
We purchased two male and female canaries so we could watch a mother take care of
her young. When my children saw the small jelly bean-like eggs, they asked inquisitive
questions such as, "How can anything be born in a tiny egg with such a big head, and
where are the feathers?" We raised our first two batches and were hooked. Needless to
say, we all enjoyed the little birds.
As my kid's enjoyment increased, we became more involved and it rapidly became a
family hobby. I started asking advice from Canary Experts, so we bought the rest of our
canaries from different sources to avoid in-breeding.
We decided to keep some, and sell the extras. It was a joy to watch them hatch and
grow, then send them on to good homes; talking to new owners of the babies was a
pleasure. Our family felt pride because we had accomplished our goal.
We provide a wide selection of different foods, vitamins, and home-grown vegetables
on a daily basis. Natural light as well as artificial light is present. Baths are given two to
three times a week. Every bird has their own swing and toys.
It's a hobby run like a business, so we are a business and yet we are not. Below are
pictures of the owners and employees, who are knowledgeable and compassionate
.
